Hen Do At Home Ideas
Every hen is different, so why settle for a cookie-cutter copy cat hen do? You want your hen do to be memorable, fun and totally you. Before you shout “Hang on a mojo Miss Kerri! I can’t afford to drop a grand on a weekend for my mates!” let me give you some Hen Do At Home Ideas, that will tick all of your boxes.
Get dolled up with your mates, whilst adding a vintage twist. Think victory rolls, winged eyeliner and red lips – scrummy! You don’t have to be a glamour puss to enjoy a bit of a makeover, even the most tom boy of brides can have a giggle doing this – I did! You can let your besties lose on you with their hoard of Boots No7, or hire a vintage Hair and Make Up Artist for the night. You can even treat it as a dry run for your big day, but your hens can join in on the act too. It’s wham, glam thank you mam! For you Midlands based Flipsters, I can highly recommend the ridiculously talented Sarah Russell HMUA. She’s got mad skills, and is a bloody lovely pixie too.
Create a Photo Memory Wall
Ask your besties to bring in their most amusing/cute/embarrassing photos of them with the bride. Expect lots of “OMG what was I wearing?!?” and “LOOK AT MY HAIR!” snaps. Hang some giant sheets of card and everyone can pin their photos to them when they arrive. Or string some ribbon up and use pegs to attach your snaps.
Remember to have a few photo props at hand to create new memories throughout the night. Easy as, and FREE!
Host an X-rated bake off
Think willy biscuits rather than soggy bottoms. Let your inner pervert run free, and encourage your mates to make boob cakes, iced knobs and anything else you can think of. Be aware, it’s always the quiet ones who’ll shock you!
Great Gatsby Cocktail Class
Cocktails are still really in, and for good reason – they’re chuffin lush! You can go full on diy and ask everyone to bring a spirit and a mixer, or hire your own mixologist. He/she will show you how to make some classic cocktails before you get hands on. All booze and equipment provided, you just need to do the mixing and drinking! My fave is a salted caramel chocolate martini……ooooooooooooooo
Book a Flipside Hen Do Crafternoon;
Okaaay this isn’t strictly an ‘at home’ option I know. But it does mean you don’t have to clean your house like a loonie before your do, then spend weeks finding bits of glitter and tiny willies hidden in your cupboards.
Start your celebrations with lots of giggles, and a new skill or two.
